Do you agree with how Blues writer Jordan Cross saw it at Fratton Park?

Rustiness showed on debut. Got some important tackles in during first half, but made some perplexing positional calls which led to Pompey's downfall. The positive was an hour’s competitive football in the locker, before withdrawal for Regan Poole. Photo: Alex Shute

Defensively shaky at times but showed forward purpose. Beaten by Ahmed early but recovered with some decent attacking moments, before Pompey opened up for centrally goals. Couldn’t guide second-half header on target, but pushed for attacking openings until death. | Steve Bailey/ProSportsImages

Special night fell flat for Gosport lad. Handed the armband on his home debut and there was plenty of clever touches as he tried to get Pompey going, but was culpable in the build up to Reading’s second before being withdrawn at break for Dozzell. | Alun Roberts/ProSportsImages

Could’t find his feet on English bow. Deployed as a 10 and failed to influence the game from that position. Had one chance before his touch let him down for a second on a difficult evening for Hungarian. Photo: Steve Bailey
