Championship action is coming thick and fast for Pompey, who are back in action on Wednesday evening against fellow early relegation rivals Sheffield United.
The Blues go into the Bramall Lane contest on a high after picking up their first win in six games on Saturday, with an impressive 3-1 triumph against Millwall.
Meanwhile the Blades, who sit four points and three places below John Mousinho’s men heading into the latest round of fixtures, claimed Steel City bragging rights on Sunday, with a 3-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday.
With a big trip tomorrow followed by a lunchtime kick-off against Bristol City this weekend, there are plenty of big calls to be made by the Pompey boss on Wednesday.
Here’s how we think the Blues could line-up against a Sheffield United outfit, who deploy a 4-2-2-2 formation.
9. RM: Florian Bianchini
Like Kosznovszky, Bianchini was another figure who was handed a surprise start by Mousinho, having been left out of the starting XI for more than a month. The Swansea City loanee was creative and definitely posed a threat on the right-wing for Pompey, in an area of the pitch which has frustrated Mousinho this season due to a number of key injuries. After an improved performance, could he be given the nod to operate out wide for the Blues once again on Wednesday? | Paul Phelan/ProSportsImages

10. CAM: John Swift
After missing the defeat to Hull City earlier in the month through, the midfielder was then an unused substitute against Millwall over the weekend. With Sheffield United utilising a 4-2-2-2 formation under Wilder, Pompey could do with an extra body in midfield out of possession. Swift has the capabilities to drop a bit deeper off the ball, while also retaining his attacking qualities going forward. It is harsh on Segecic but with three games in eight days on his return from injury, Mousinho will still be carefully managing his minutes. | Graham Hunt/ProSportsImages

11. LM: Josh Murphy
Back to full fitness and a real danger on the left wing. Another assist to his name on Saturday after teeing up Swanson for the Blues’ opener. Caused havoc to the Blades’ defence in this fixture last season and Pompey will be hoping the 30-year-old can unlock Sheffield United’s backline once again. | Graham Hunt/ProSportsImages
12. ST: Colby Bishop
Bishop has failed to score in any of his previous 13 Championship outings but has been given a vote of confidence by Mousinho to renew his goal threat. With a number of key faces returning from injury, the Blues boss is hoping to have his side firing on all cylinders once again, which will play to the Magic Man’s strengths. | Paul Phelan/ProSportsImages
