Portsmouth chief’s season ticket update amid concerns uncertainty is hitting sales

Pompey chief executive Andy Cullen updates on on season tickets sales, with uncertainty continuing over the future of John Mousinho.

Andy Cullen revealed Pompey’s season-ticket sales are tracking in line with last year.

The Blues chief praised supporters’ continuing loyalty, as last week saw the 5,000 barrier crossed for renewals for the 2026-27 campaign.

Cullen on season tickets: ‘We’re on a par with last year’

That comes with some supporters questioning whether the uncertainty over John Mousinho’s future could create hesitancy over fans booking their seats.

Pompey fans have until June 3 to confirm renewals for next term, before the first of those on a 3,000-strong waiting list are given their opportunity to take up their spots.

With season tickets capped at a ceiling of 15,000, everything points to all those being snapped up as the Fratton Faithful get on board for a third successive Championship campaign.

Cullen said: ‘We’re on a par with last year’s rate of sale - we’re very grateful for everyone’s who renewed to date.

‘Each year you will get into that waiting list, because there will be a number of season ticket holders who, for various reasons, don’t continue.

‘There will be an opportunity for those on the waiting list to have some, but there will be people left there judging by the current rate of sale compared to last year.

‘You always see an immediate spike when they go on the sale and a spike in the last week.

‘So it’s important to track. We launched at roughly the same time last year, so we’re able to see year-on-year rates and we can see we’re where we were last year.’

Despite that, the Pompey CEO feels the club have tried to be fair and shown consideration towards families and young fans.

He added: ‘We’re conscious we had a six per cent raise, where we’ve had increases across the business as individuals have in their homes.

‘So we’ve tried to strike as fair a balance as we could with those prices and make it affordable for families.

‘We are able to support supporters with teh ability to spread the payment of their season tickets.

‘We try to keep the young children’s prices really competitive as well.

‘That’s important to continue to grow the next generation of Pompey supporters.

‘We’ve finished with 15,000 season tickets for the last two years and we’re grateful to everyone who made the early decision to renew.

‘The deadline is still sometime away, but if the trend continues we’re heading towards 15,000 season ticket holders again - that’s brilliant.’
