Birmingham City lodge bid for Ipswich Town attacker amid chase in Portsmouth's Adrian Segečić
It’s expected to be a busy finale to the transfer window for Pompey, with Birmingham City holding an interest in Adrian Segečić.
Birmingham City have reportedly launched a bid to sign Ipswich Town attacking midfielder Anis Mehmeti amid late-window interest in Adrian Segečić.
It’s gearing up to be a frenetic finale to the summer at Fratton Park, with the 22-year-old’s future under the spotlight.

But as the head coach weighs up his attacking target, Birmingham are now believed to be looking to advance in a move for Mehmeti.
Transfer guru Pete O’Rourke from Football Insider has revealed the St Andrews outfit have made a bid to land the Ipswich Town man ahead of the window’s climax.
The report states the Blues are ‘hopeful’ an agreement can be reached before Tuesday’s deadline, with the 25-year-old expected to provide a solution to Davies’ No.10 issues.
The London-born Albania international netted two goals and collected two assists in 18 appearances for the Tractor Boys following a £3m move from Bristol City in January.
But less than eight months after his switch, Ipswich are set to sanction a departure for the attacking midfielder, with Birmingham aid to be leading the chase.
Birmingham City’s interest in Adrian Segečić

His potential arrival could have implications on any late-window movement for Segečić, who is understood to be on the radar of the football operations at St Andrews.
The News revealed this week that Birmingham have an interest in the Croatian, who has thrived in the Championship following his switch from Sydney FC in June 2025.
In his maiden campaign on the south coast, the 22-year-old finished as Pompey’s top scorer, netting 11 goals and providing four assists.
And his form has continued into the new season, scoring two goals in the opening three matches in all competitions.
While no formal bid has been received, it is certainly something the Fratton Park side are bracing themselves for in the coming days.
Speaking to The News this week, the head coach said: ‘Not as far as I’ve heard and we haven’t had a bid at all.
‘There’s not concrete interest, but I’m half expecting there to be some interest between now and the back end of the window.
‘I’m surprised there hasn’t been more this summer, but that’s to our benefit because Segs has now scored two in three.
‘We’re prepared for it and we’re prepared in every position, because you never know what can happen in football.
‘I think it’s one of those things. Segs is 22 and scored 11 goals last season in 24 starts - and has now scored two in three out of position.
‘He’s done very well for a young lad, so I wouldn’t be surprised at all (if there’s a bid), because goals come at a premium. So there’s no doubt plenty of clubs would be interested.’
