What John Mousinho has said about exciting new Portsmouth signing Iyad Mohamed after six-figure capture
Iyad Mohamed has become Pompey’s 10th signing of the summer window.
John Mousinho is confident new signing Iyad Mohamed has the qualities to thrive for Pompey in the Championship.
And the head coach has detailed the exciting qualities the midfielder can add to his engine room after making the six-figure move to Fratton Park.
The Blues’ summer spending continued on Thursday, with the 25-year-old becoming the club’s 10th new arrival of the transfer window.

The 28-cap Comoros international has penned a three-year deal with the PO4 outfit, subject to registrations being confirmed by FIFA, The FA, and the EFL.
The French-born talent is expected to provide a solution to Mousinho’s midfield issues, with a new number six high on the head coach’s shopping list throughout the window.
Meanwhile, the Blues’ deal to sign FC Volendam’s Gibson Yah also fell through, with the 25-year-old subsequently joining Championship rivals Bristol City.
John Mousinho’s exciting verdict on new Pompey signing
Mohamed arrives at Fratton Park after a successful 18-month stay in Portugal’s top flight with Casa Pia, where he amassed 35 appearances in all competitions.
And Mousinho has detailed the key qualities his latest addition can bring to his Championship side.
He told the club’s official website: ‘We’re delighted to bring in an athletic and powerful player, who also possesses a great range of passing.
‘He’s a full international and has plenty of experience from his time in Portugal, but also a lot of potential.
‘We feel that Iyad has all the attributes required to do well in the Championship and are very excited to bring him to Pompey.
‘Now we’re looking forward to integrating him into this group and getting him up to speed as soon as possible.’
Pompey’s summer transfer business

Mohamed becomes Pompey’s 10th signing of what has proved to be an incredibly busy summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old joins Odin Bailey, Eoin Kenny, Rocco Shein, Luke Brooke-Smith, Abu Kamara, Marko Milovanovic, Daniel Bielica, Benjy Arthur and Ryan Kavuma-McQueen in completing the switch to Fratton Park this summer.
That number is expected to increase further before Tuesday’s deadline, with a new left-back and a versatile attacker still on Mousinho’s shopping list.
However, a reported move for Wolves midfielder Boubacar Traore now looks unlikely following Mohamed’s arrival.
Luke Chambers, Rhys Norrington-Davies and Tyrese Shade have all been tipped to make late window moves to Fratton Park as the Blues put the finishing touches to their squad.
It’s setting up to be a frenetic finale to the transfer window on the south coast, with even more incomings and outgoings expected before Tuesday’s deadline.
