'Need to be looking above. Excellent plan B': Split Portsmouth verdict over summer move for £1.5m Luton Town man
Millenic Alli scored one goal and collected twi assists in 21 appearances for Pompey
The Fratton faithful have taken to social media to share their thoughts on a permanent move for Millenic Alli this summer.
The winger, of course, spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Fratton Park after sealing a temporary switch from Luton Town in the January window.
Indeed, the 26-year-old offered much-needed cover on the left wing during the second half of the campaign, with both Josh Murphy and Keshi Anderson sidelined with respective injury issues.
This saw Alli play a key role in John Mousinho’s arsenal in the run-in, netting one goal and collecting two assists in his 21 Championship appearances.
Following the conclusion of his loan deal, the Irishman will now return to Luton this summer, where he made the £1.5m move in January 2025.
And Pompey supporters on social media have been left split over a permanent move for the wide man in the upcoming transfer window as the Blues look to strengthen ahead of next term.
We put the question: Would you sign Millenic Alli on a permanent deal this summer? to the Fratton faithful - and the response was varied.
Here’s the best of the reaction from Facebook.
Pompey verdict over summer move for £1.5m Luton Town winger
Stephen Brown: It’s a No for me, Murphy and Anderson on the left in front of him.
Patrick Squires: I would, as an option off the bench for Murphy I think he'd be great. And he's still young, loads of time for him to learn from Murphy & Anderson.
Tanya Roberts Chinnery: If he passes the ball quicker and more accurately, doesn't keep giving it away, doesn't keep falling down too much and he goes for free, then yes!
Paul Sharpe: Yes, he does have good pace, just needs a good pair of shooting boots.
James Matheson: As a squad player / impact sub possibly but must be better options. If we are light on numbers then yes at a push. A couple of games he's looked on fire but majority he looks completely out of sorts.
Neil Harms: No not how he’s been playing lately.
Philip Hibbert: Possibly, depends on the fee. He has the ability to make things happen and with a bit more coaching from mous he will hopefully make the right decision at the right times.
Terry Gould: Not for me, runs with his head down looking like he’s trying to tackle himself most of the time and for a winger doesn’t get the ball in the box enough and shoots from weird angles rather than pick out a pass.

Rob Jordan: On a free or low fee and on a squad player wage...but for me he's not consistent enough (yet) to command a first team spot. There's no doubting he has talent though so with good coaching could become a good player.
Adrian Leeworthy: Feel like he was a good loan, which for us is something. We need to be looking above Alli.
David Gow: Yes definitely, he has skills for sure - yes, he is inconsistent and lousy when helping out around our own box but I see him as an excellent plan B component to exploit an opponents defensive weaknesses later in a game, particularly if chasing a goal. Simply overload that area, he has good close skills. Also, he is our only back up choice for when Murphy pulls up injured next.
Nigel Cole: No. His first touch is poor and he loses possession a lot. He is direct which is great at times and he can go past the defender on the outside. But still no. Needs to up his assists and goals.
Frank Jenkins: Yes. We have Murphy and Anderson but injuries to both this season would have left us short without him.
Kolonel Kasper: If we have Keshi and Murphy, I’m not convinced he'd get too much game time. Pleased with his efforts, but might not the best use of out undoubtedly limited funds.
Lee Hazell: Absolutely not. You can see why he couldn’t get into a league one side. Both him and Brown weren’t good enough.
