'Absoultely horrific sight... Where is Swanson?' - Portsmouth fans react to starting XI named for Norwich game

The Fratton faithful have been reacting to the team named to face Norwich in the Championship

Pompey fans on social media have been reacting to the starting XI John Mousinho has selected for today’s game against Norwich at Carrow Road.

Out go Conor Shaughnessy, Ebou Adams (injured), John Swift, Adrian Segecic and Jacob Brown, with Joho Dia, Luke Le Roux, Conor Chaplin, Gustavo Caballero and Colby Bishop drafted in for the game against the Canaries.

Mousinho also welcomes back previously injured Andre Dozzell and Keshi Anderson for their first match back after the international and ahead of Monday’s game against Oxford United at Fratton Park.

However, there’s no place in the squad for Zak Swanson, who presumably picked up an injury in training in the build-up to the game.

But what have the fans been saying since today’s line-up was revealed at 1.45pm?

We took a look to find out - and here’s what we discovered...

@JSweetman92: Not signing a striker and a cm in January was the final nail in the coffin…

@jordy_drapes: That’s a depressing line-up. Anything today is a bonus. All about Oxford on Monday imo.

@daniel_son79: That’s an absolutely horrific sight. And where is Swanson ?

@IndianaDerman: A bit worrying but need to see some kind of reaction, spark that gets the fans back on board. Last couple of months have been tough to watch.

@fletcherg003: I would have benched Schmidt, too!

@L8shift: Picking a team to lose again. With so few games left and having had 2 weeks off just pick your best available 11 every game now…

@jwldopp: A certain score line is written all over this one.

@js18921421: What a sorry excuse for a Championship starting 11. Could be a very long afternoon #pompey

@Clarkeyboy12345: Actually depressing to look at that. Our League 1 squad was better.

@MikeOfPompey: I wouldn’t say that’s even a strong line up in League One.

@euan_pfc: Why drop Swift, he’s our best player at this point.

@andrewdarkperry: Saving people for Oxford works for me.

@peckham65Grant: It could be a long, painful afternoon.
