Ruthless Portsmouth boss makes shock changes as John Mousinho rips up his struggling side for Charlton

Pompey boss makes widespread changes for this afternoon’s trip to The Valley

John Mousinho has ripped up his struggling Pompey team and made six changes at Charlton.

Following successive defeats to Sheffield United and Bristol City, the Blues boss has dug deep into his squad in an attempt to discover a winning formula.

While Andre Dozzell’s absence is enforced through suspension, Mousinho has made a number of high profile starting XI decisions.

Out-of-form Colby Bishop drops to the bench along with Jordan Williams and Adrian Segecic, while Regan Poole and Josh Knight aren’t even included in the 20-man squad.

Terry Devlin is back following a one-game ban, while Hayden Matthews, Ibane Bowat, John Swift, Minhyeok Yang and Conor Chaplin also come in.

Matthews and Bowat will form the centre-half partnership, while it appears Lang will lead the attack, with Chaplin operating behind in his favoured number 10 role.

Harvey Blair returns to the bench after not featuring since October, while Luke Roux is also among the substitutes having been left out of the last three squads.

Academy first-year scholar Ashton Sizer is again included on the bench, with Florian Bianchini is nowhere to be seen and Connor Ogilvie, Jacob Farrell and Thomas Waddingham are still out through injury.

Pompey: Schmid, Devlin, Matthews, Bowat, Swanson, Pack, Swift, Yang, Chaplin, Murphy, Lang.

Subs: Bursik, Williams, Sizer, Le Roux, Kosznovszky, Segecic, Blair, Kirk, Bishop.
