The necessity for privacy means the club cannot release the names of the 34 so far declared free of the pandemic, however Catlin has revealed he received the all-clear on Thursday.

Pompey have tested all players and backroom staff, in addition to those likely to come into contact at the training ground.

Now they’re wait to learn whether there are any more casualties.

The Blues’ chief executive told The News: ‘Obviously there is a fear more will be infected.

‘However, we won’t know until we get the remaining tests back. We had 48 people tested and there are still 10 to come back.

‘The first batch of 14 arrived on Thursday, which was all clear, then we had a second batch of 10 which I learnt late on Friday night had three cases.

‘Now have now received a further 14 this morning, which included a positive test (Mnoga).

‘To my knowledge, all the first-team players and backroom staff were tested, along with anyone who would potentially be looking to come into contact with them should they resume training.

‘Anyone elderly with underlying health issues was sent home straight away, we wouldn't want them around even if they tested negative because of the potential for them catching it. We couldn’t take that risk.

‘I don’t know when we will find out the remaining results, all the testing and labs are pretty swamped at the moment, so we can’t be giving any assurances.

‘We will follow the same process and, as and when they come in, we will obviously advise our supporters.

‘To a degree, whether you test positive or not, it is still the same procedure, you go home, you self isolate. If you develop symptoms that deteriorate then you need to call 111 and take further advice.’

Pompey initiated testing of employees after Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was diagnosed with coronavrius.

The Blues faced the Premier League side in the FA Cup fifth round on March 2.

And Catlin has defended Pompey’s decision to implement widespread testing, a procedure costing the club around £6,000.

He added: ‘Just to make clear, we paid for these kits privately and then to be assessed in a private lab.

‘Far from putting any pressure on the NHS, hopefully we have tried to do our bit by taking it off them.

‘They were quite expensive kits as well, but when it comes to the health and well-being of our staff, the money is secondary.’
