The Westleigh Park outfit have opted against making a short term move for the American following a brief trial.

He featured in both of the Hawks' pre-season friendlies so far - a 5-1 win at Horndean on Saturday and a victory at AFC Totton the week previous.

However, Paul Doswell has decided to pursue other options as he eyes competition for No1 Ross Worner this season.

The Hawks boss praised the American's efforts while on trial, however.

But Doswell is looking for a permanent addition rather than a loan arrival.

‘Duncan did great in the first two games for us,' said the Hawks boss.

‘But it was looking at whether we wanted a loan goalkeeper that could be recalled or did we want a permanent keeper that would push Ross (Worner) this season.

‘In the end, the decision was very much we wanted to get our own goalkeeper in.

‘It was no reflection on Duncan it was just the way we wanted to go.

‘We did look at Duncan for that loan.

‘But knowing that Pompey might recall him as well it made the decision easier.'
