It’s understood the keeper said his Fratton Park goodbyes yesterday as he prepared to bring his two-and-a-half year stay on the south coast to an end.

They’ve been in the market for a new shot-stopper after regular No1 Richard O’Donnell suffered a hamstring scare at the end of last Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Crawley – a result which left them sixth in League Two.

Meanwhile, Sam Hornby is presently on loan at non-leaguers Fylde, playing regular first-team football.

McGee has made 53 appearances for the Blues, following his switch from Tottenham in the summer of 2017.

His last Pompey senior outing came in December 2018, when the Blues beat Arsenal under-21s in the Checkatrade Trophy.
