Not since 1961, when Ron Saunders scored the only goal of the game in west London, have the Blues picked up a league win at the home of The Rs.
Twelve divisional games have been played there since, with the most recent being a 2-0 Championship defeat back in February 2011. However, on each occasion the Pompey faithful have headed straight back to the south coast without a victory to cheer - a run that currently stands at P12 W0 D4 L8.

This term, the Blues have played nine times. But five draws and four defeats in that period ensures a much-needed win continues to elude them.
Not for much longer, though, if Sky Sports’ Mr EFL, David Prutton, is to be believed. Indeed, he believes Mousinho’s men - who sit second from bottom in the standings - are on the brink of their first win and is confident that will come against a QPR side who are just one place and two points above them in the table and have lost their past three games.
Speaking on his latest Sky Sports Championship predictions podcast, the former Southampton midfielder said: ‘What do I think for this? Erm. you know what, Pompey to win 1-0!’

On that occasion, Kenny Jackett’s side picked up a rare win against the Hoops in the League Cup. That showed a Blues victory at Loftus Road is not impossible - although Pompey’s last 12 league visits there demonstrates they’re definitely hard to come by.
Here’s Prutton’s other Championship predictions as Mousinho’s side not only seek a maiden win but also a route out of the bottom three, which they currently occupy alongside QPR and Cardiff.
Leeds 2-2 Sheffield United
Oxford United 1-2 West Brom
Cardiff 1-1 Plymouth
Luton 2-2 Watford
Preston North End 1-0 Coventry
Hull 1-1 Sunderland
Blackburn 2-1 Swansea
Middlesbrough 2-1 Bristol City
Millwall 1-0 Derby
Sheffield Wednesday 2-2 Burnley
Stoke 1-2 Norwich
