The midfielder has made an instant impact at Pompey following his loan move from Manchester City. Produced another eye-catching display in a cameo appearance against Fulham Under-21s on Tuesday night. His ability to unlock the Stevenage defence will be key on Saturday. And he definitely has the ability! Photo: Jason Brown
The Northern Irishman has given John Mousinho a proper selection headache here following his eye-catching display against Fulham on Tuesday night. He was full of energy, determination and skill as he played on the right as an inverted winger. It's the sort of performance Mousinho will have wanted after a period out injured, and coupled with Gavin Whyte's slow start to life at Fratton Park, Lane might just get the nod. Photo: Jason Brown
The striker will have been frustrated with the lack of service provided to him last time out against Cheltenham. Will be hoping for a better return against Stevenage. Photo: Jason Brown
Sparkes is undoubtedly the surprise package from the 13 players recruited by Pompey this summer. He looks untouchable offensively, and with Colby Bishop desperate for service, Sparkes represents an obvious outlet to do that. He's yet to start for the Blues in the league, but surely now is the time. His crosses were a stand-out feature against Fulham in midweek. Paddy Lane's ability to play on the right also provides a space to be filled on the opposite wing, with Anthony Scully yet to catch fire. Photo: Jason Brown
