Portsmouth receive play-off boost over Rangers' Ross McCrorie

And that gives Kenny Jackett a full complement of loanees, with Steve Seddon, Cameron McGeehan and Sean Raggett also remaining for the finish.

Pompey’s boss has revealed the Scottish giants wanted to see the outcome of League One talks over the future of the 2019-20 season before granting McCrorie permission to remain.

Now the Blues’ fixture list has been drawn up with a semi-final against Oxford United (July 3 and July 6) and a potential play-off final (July 13).

And Jackett has McCrorie available for all three, if required.

He told The News: ‘All of the loan players are good to play in the play-off games – and should we get through to the final they are okay as well.

‘Ross has been extended until the end of the play-offs and he played 45 minutes against Reading the other day.

‘Rangers go back in August, but are happy for him to play for us. Now we have some dates, it is straightforward and we have no problems with the guys on loan.

‘With the dates of the play-offs announced, parent clubs can now see where they are and what they are doing.

‘There has generally also been an appetite from our loan lads to be able to stay – and that hasn’t changed.’

McCrorie, Raggett, Seddon and McGeehan were among the 23 players used in Pompey’s opening friendly against Reading on Sunday.

Each was handed 45 minutes during the 3-1 defeat, in which Oli Hawkins netted the Blues’ consolation.

Seddon had previously been announced as extending his loan – while Jackett insists McCrorie, McGeehan and Raggett have followed suit.

He added: ‘Raggett is fine to play for us. As far as I know, I don’t think anything has been decided about his future at Norwich.

‘But he has a good focus for trying to get Pompey promoted this year.’
