Pompey staged a last-gasp swoop to clinch their 12th signing of the transfer window.

Huddersfield’s Josh Koroma joined on a season-long loan minutes before the deadline to secure Danny Cowley the additional attacker he craved.

The 23-year-old forward played under Danny Cowley at the Terriers, where he has totalled 13 goals in 72 appearances for the Championship club.

Meanwhile, on a deadline day which sprang into life late on, Haji Mnoga sealed a season-long loan to League Two Gillingham.

Elsewhere, Kieron Freeman remains at Fratton Park despite summer interest in the right-back.

Ryan Tunnicliffe is earmarked for a switch to Australia, a deal which can be completed at a later date as still within the Australian transfer window.

Pompey themselves hadn’t given up hope of sealing one more signing before the transfer window’s closure and worked desperately into the night to achieve it.

That arrived in the form of Koroma, who becomes the Blues’ fifth loan signing, thereby completing their allocation.

He has featured in the Championship three times this season, starting once.
