Portsmouth secure third signing of transfer window as midfielder Rocco Shein joins on three-year deal
Pompey’s third signing of the summer has arrived.
Pompey have completed their much-anticipated move for Estonia midfielder Rocco Shein.
The 22-year-old has made the switch to Fratton Park from Norwegian outfit Fredrikstad for an undisclosed fee, signing a three-year deal.
He’s Pompey’s third signing of the summer transfer window, following deals for Odin Bailey and Eoin Kenny.
Welcoming the international to PO4, Blues boss John Mousinho said: ‘We’re delighted to continue our summer transfer activity with the signing of Rocco.
‘He will provide us with plenty of physicality in the centre of the pitch, but is also someone who is very comfortable on the ball.
‘Rocco has already made a great deal of progress over the past few years and is still young, so we feel he can continue to improve with us.’
Shein began his career in his homeland with Flora, where he played European football before joining Dutch outfit Utrecht.
He then moved on to play for Dordrecht prior to his arrival at Fredrikstad at the beginning of 2025, helping them finish eighth in the top-flight standings last season.
Shein has been capped 25 times by his country, having made his debut in a 2022 friendly draw with Albania
Pompey play their first pre-season game of the summer against Woking on Tuesday night. That might give Blues supporters their first glimpse of the midfielder, along with Bailey and Kenny.
