Ronan Curtis scored 14 goals in all competitions and proved one of the most potent wingers in the third tier.

Meanwhile, Christian Burgess was consistent throughout the campaign and scored four goals in 45 appearances.

Yet both were eschewed from the team.

League One champions Coventry boast four players in the line-up – Marco Marosi, Fankaty Dabo, Liam Walsh and Matt Godden.

Runners-up Rotherham (Matt Crooks and Michael Ihiekwe) and Pompey’s play-off conquerors Oxford (Cameron Brannagan and Rob Dickie) both have two respectively.

Peterborough's Ivany Toney, who won the Golden Boot with 24 goals, unsurprisingly takes his place up front, while Armand Gnanduillet (Blackpool) and Joe Jacobson (Wycombe) made the team.

In the 2018-19 season, Matt Clarke and Jamal Lowe were both named in the PFA League One Team of the Year.
