Blues assistant manager Joe Gallen believes the uncertainty around the Covid-19 pandemic has not dulled the club’s appeal to potential signings.

Gallen feels the stability at Fratton Park is proving a help when it comes to whether players would be prepared to make the move to PO4 moving forward.

It remains to be seen how the picture will unfold when it comes to signing players, with chief executive Mark Catlin advocating keeping the summer window open until the end of January 2021.

That is a suggestion which has garnered support, and would allow some flexibility with clubs facing an uncertain future and the prospect of plugging huge holes in their budgets.

But from Gallen’s point of view he feels Pompey can still hold their own when it comes to being a pull to targets.

‘You’ve got some lads up in the north of the country who might not want to come down south – and if they do, they want a hell of a lot of money.

'Playing for Pompey is a big pull. It's a big club, a great club and the fan base is a big, big pull.

'We're in our third year in charge and we have been going in the right direction as a club.

‘People can see that, understand the history of the club and the majority of players in League One would love to be playing the stature of Pompey and in front of sell-out crowds most weeks.’
