However, there’s no concerns regarding the rest of the Ireland squad or staff members after they all tested negative in the latest round of testing carried out by the Football Association of Ireland.

Curtis is currently with the Eire set-up as they prepare for their Nations League game against Bulgaria in Dublin on Wednesday.

The Pompey winger came on as a 71st-minute substitute in the 3-0 friendly defeat to England on Thursday – his fifth cap for his country.

However, he was not used in Sunday’s 1-0 loss at the hands of Wales in Cardiff.

The 24-year-old will miss the Blues’ trip to Plymouth tonight as Kenny Jackett’s side look bolster their League One promotion hopes at Home Park.

But Curtis, who will be desperate to play against Bulgaria, will be back in time to feature against Crewe at Fratton Park on Saturday.

Doherty and McClean’s positive tests comes three days after midfielder Alan Browne, who played the full 90 minutes against England, also tested positive.

Meanwhile, West Brom's Callum Robinson was ruled out of the match earlier last week after contracting the virus.

Last month, Covid concerns meant five players were ruled out of the Republic of Ireland’s Nations League match with Wales.
