A moment for the Scot to savour following a first appearance for almost two months.

McCrorie said: ‘To be fair, I think the gaffer just wanted to be a bit more attacking so made the substitutions.

‘I was just thinking in my head to get forward as much as possible and try to put balls in. I did it and it paid off, with Ellis putting it into the net.

‘The gaffer knows my game and knows what I am like when I play right-back. I like to push forward, it was just a case of me doing my usual.

‘That cross was all right to be honest, I put a couple in, Marquis had a chance as well, it was a good finish from Ellis and the most important thing to get the three points.

‘We had a few chances at the end to be fair, with a couple of one-on-ones. The boys dug in deep to get the three points.’
