Released Portsmouth duo currently on trial at West Ham United under-23s

West Ham under-23s are currently running the rule over released Pompey Academy duo Charlie Bell and Harvey Rew.

It's understood that both youngsters are on trial at the Premier League outfit’s development side.

Bell and Rew were among a host of youngsters told they'd not be earning new Blues deals at the end of the season.

Harry Kavanagh, Eoin Teggart, Gerard Storey, Harry Anderson and Taylor Seymour are among the others who will depart.

Both Bell and Rew have attracted strong interest as they prepare for the next chapters of their respective careers.

And the pair are hoping to impress West Ham and link-up with their under-23s squad ahead of next season.

Rew made three appearances for the Blues in the EFL Trophy.

Bell, from North End, also made three outings in this season's Papa John's Trophy campaign.

The midfielder’s debut arrived in a 1-0 defeat to West Ham under-21s and he was awarded man of the match for an eye-catching display.

Former head of academy performance and recruitment Dave Wright left Pompey for Brighton in October 2018 and is also an admirer.
