Report claims the exact date when Portsmouth, Sunderland, Coventry and Ipswich's League One season will recommence

According to ESPN, the first Saturday in June is when the Football League are aiming to restart the season.

English football has been suspended for more than a month amid the coronavirus crisis.

Moreover, teams have been told that training should not take place until May 16.

If the campaign was to resume on June 6, that would give Pompey three weeks to prepare.

The ESPN report states: ‘A video conference of all 20 Premier League clubs is due to take place this Friday in order to discuss and outline a tentative schedule for the resumption of the league in the coming weeks.

‘But sources have told ESPN that the EFL, which includes the Championship, League One and League Two, is working towards games being played from June 6 onwards after an initial three-week mini pre-season starting on May 16.’
