The in-form Republic of Ireland international scored his 12th goal of the season during Saturday’s 4-2 FA Cup demolition of Barnsley.

Ben Close, John Marquis and Christian Burgess also registered as Kenny Jackett’s men produced arguably their finest display of the campaign to progress to the fifth round.

In the case of Curtis, it was another reminder of the talent which has seen him linked with Blackburn during the January window.

He remains out of contract in the summer, with the club possessing a 12-month option.

In the meantime, Curtis believes he will be at Fratton Park for the remainder of the season at the very least.

He said: ‘There have been no talks yet of leaving, but I love this clubs to pieces and hopefully I’ll go up with this team.

‘I’m not really ready to leave yet.

‘I will take it as it is, I don’t bother keeping my eye on the transfer window, I am here to play football, here to play games.

‘I expect to be here after the transfer window, unless the manager gets rid of me! I'm happy to be here.

‘Rumours are going to happen, I have scored 12 goals this season, you are going to be linked with teams, but it doesn’t mean anything when there’s no bids or nothing coming in.

‘There’s not really talks about a new deal. If they want to offer me a new contract they will, but I’m just focusing on my football now and want to do the best I can for the team and for the staff.

‘I’m playing my football, playing my game, and hope for the best.’

Having struggled for form earlier in the campaign, Curtis has rattled in 10 goals in his last 17 appearances in all competitions.

There are nine members of Jackett’s first-team squad whose deals expire this summer, with Curtis among them.

Potential contract talks are presently on hold as the club focuses on securing a Championship return.

And Curtis insists he is relaxed about the situation.

He added: ‘There's an option in the club’s favour, a year which they can take up.

‘We haven’t spoken about that yet, so we’ll just take it day-by-day and step-by-step.

‘I don’t really mind, I put it to one side and wait for the manager and board to speak to me about it. There's a lot of games coming up and I’m just focusing on them.

‘At the end of the day, I am focusing on my game and not worried about that in my head, just trying to do the best I can.’
