Separate Pompey tributes to be held for Beau Croucher and Alan Knight ahead of Derby and Cardiff games
The Fratton faithful will pay tribute to both Beau Croucher and club legend Alan Knight ahead of the games against Derby and Cardiff respectively
Pompey have confirmed a minute’s applause will be held in tribute to young Blues fan Beau Croucher ahead of tonight’s Fratton Park fixture against Derby County.
The 14-year-old, who was a passionate Pompey supporter, died following a tragic incident on The Hard in Portsea last month.
Members of his close family will be in attendance to see the Blues family pay their respects on the same day that club legend Alan Knight died, aged 65, following his battle with prostate cancer.
The former keeper, who made 801 appearances for the club over four decades, will also be in many people’s thoughts ahead of tonight’s game.
However, a separate minute’s applause and tributes to Knightsie will take place ahead of Saturday’s home fixture against Cardiff, something which has his family’s blessing.
According to Pompey, this is to ensure that both receive a fitting tribute from the Fratton faithful.
A statement from the club read: ‘A minute’s applause will be held before kick-off this evening to give fans the opportunity to pay tribute to Beau Croucher.

‘The loyal and passionate Pompey fan tragically passed away recently at the age of just 14 and members of his close family will be in attendance for tonight’s match against Derby.
‘Portsmouth FC have also been left devastated by the death of our friend, colleague and Blues legend Alan Knight following a brave battle with prostate cancer.
‘To ensure both receive a fitting tribute, we will – with the blessing of Alan’s family – be holding a minute’s applause as part of our tributes to him prior to Saturday’s game against Cardiff.
‘Our thoughts are with the families and friends of both Alan and Beau at this very sad time.’
