But the midfielder acknowledged the Blues have to quickly learn the new coaching team’s philosophies after a 2-1 defeat to Burton Albion.

Close felt there was some promising moments from his team but not enough attacking quality, as the run of fours wins on the spin come to a close.

He said: ‘We look like a team learning a new way to play.

‘We showed some good moments and some good play in the final third, but not enough of it.

‘We didn’t create enough chances, but that’s down to us as players taking on what the coaching staff are teaching us.

‘There is a need to put it together sooner rather than later, but we’re a team learning who are in transition.’
