A big part of League One clubs' recruitment is signing unattached players, with more than 1,000 expected to be available in English football.

Pompey have had numerous triallists at the club in recent years. Last summer, Aaron Jarvis and James Meredith trained with the club while American keeper Duncan Turnbull successfully won a deal in February.

However, because of the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak, there is a lack of clarity whether sides will be able to run the rule over free agents in training.

And Moore belives that needs to change.

Speaking to the Doncaster Free Press, he said: ‘There’s a lot of free agents out there and we need the guidelines from the EFL about players coming in to train with us.

‘We need to find out how we stand there.

‘We need to know the measures about how to bring free agents and trialists in to have a look at them.
