Christian Burgess, Brett Pitman, Oli Hawkins, Adam May and Matt Casey all departed Fratton Park, while Lee Brown and Brandon Haunstrup have been offered new deals.
Only Burgess has a new club, having joined Belgium side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.
The other four who have left are now free agents and can are able to talk to clubs over a potential move.
But they aren’t the only players who’ve plied their trade at Fratton Park during thier careers who’ll also be trying to find a new home.
There’s an array of ex-Pompey players who are also out of contract this summer.
We’ve taken a look at some of them...

5. Danny Rose
It’s highly unlikely the popular midfielder would return to Fratton Park given he was out of favour under Kenny Jackett. Rose helped Swindon to the League Two title this term but now needs to agree a fresh deal if he's to stay at the County Ground. Photo: Joe Pepler

6. Tareiq Holmes-Dennis
A player with talent in abundance when fit but has had his injury problems - as witnessed when he suffered a knee setback that ruled him out for the season at Pompey in 2017-18. Will be an asset to any side if he avoids further setbacks after leaving Bristol Rovers. Photo: Shaun Boggust

7. Dion Donohue
The Welshman is set to train with Swindon in pre-season and will sign a deal in September if everything is well. Manager Richie Wellens has said he’s giving the versatile talent his ‘last chance’ following off-field problems at Mansfield. Photo: Jordan Mansfield

8. Eoin Doyle
The striker enjoyed a prolific season for Swindon as they captured the League Two title. The former Pompey loanee looks set to stay in the second tier, however, with a switch to Bolton on the cards. Photo: Joe Pepler
