One of the final pieces in the Blues jigsaw will be a left-sided winger who can provide competition for Anthony Scully this term.
The indications are the Blues will look to the loan market to fill that role – so we’ve had a look at some of these promising, young options who could do that job next term.
5. Lewis Dobbin
Knows all about the League One terrain after 54 appearances on loan at Derby last term, another temporary stint away from Goodison Park may be the best way for the 20-year-old to progress. Away with the Everton squad in pre-season, but, as is usually the case, things can develop as the season nears or gets underway. Photo: Gareth Copley
6. Thierry Nevers
The 21-year-old can play anywhere along the front line and had stints on loan at Newport and Bradford last term. The West Ham talent will be looking for another development loan this season. Photo: Bruce Rollinson
7. Ollie O'Neill
Fulham's Republic of Ireland under-21 international spent the second half of last season on loan at Derry City. The 20-year-old is most at home on the left flank and will be looking for first-team opportunities this season. Photo: Kevin Moore
8. Filip Stevanovic
Touted as a huge future talent when joining Manchester City from Partizan Belgrade for £6m three years ago. The 20-year-old Serb went on loan to Dutch side Heerenveen but spent last season in the Portuguese second division. Perhaps a lower league stay in England would be more beneficial to the left winger's development. Photo: Srdjan Stevanovic
