Pompey are one of a number of clubs in promotion contention who are keen to see the season continue, giving them the chance to earn promotion on the field.
But what chance do they have of sealing a return to the Championship if the campaign does kick-off again?
The data experts at FiveThirtyEight have calculated where every team will finish if the season is concluded, as well as their percentage chances of promotion.

1. 11th - Gillingham
The data experts believe that Gillingham - who can still mathematically hit the top six - have a <1% chance of promotion this term.

2. 10th - Ipswich Town
The Tractor Boys were the favourites for promotion prior to the season, but are now judged to have a <1% chance of an instant return to the Championship.

3. 9th - Doncaster Rovers
Darren Moore's side are sat on the periphery of the play-off places, and have an 8% chance of promotion - according to the data experts.

4. 8th - Wycombe Wanderers
Were an unweighted points-per-game formula applied to decide promotion, Wycombe would finish in third place. But were the season to be played on, the data experts feel that Wanderers have just an 8% chance of promotion.
