That’s according to The Sun, who claim the Blues – along with Bristol City, Barnsley, Peterborough, Bolton and Tranmere – are all interested in the 25-year-old.

The winger is currently playing for Hayes & Yeading in the Southern League premier division south, where he has recorded 13 goals and 14 assists in 21 games.

That’s the seventh tier of English Football.

But with Pompey dipping into the non-league scene for players in recent seasons following the arrivals of Jamal Lowe (Hampton & Richmond Borough), Nicke Kabamba (Hampton & Richmond Borough), Oli Hawkins (Dagenham) and most recently Reeco Hackett-Fairchild (Bromey), it’s a market they are prepared to do business in.

Rowe made two Southampton first-team appearances – both in the Capital One Cup during the 2013-14 season under Mauricio Pochettino.

He signed for Essex Senior League side Tower Hamlets in the 2015-16 season, before having short-lived spells at National League South side Bishop’s Stortford and Woodford Town prior to a three-year stint in Cyprus.

The wide man returned to England in 2019 with Hayes & Yeading, who are currently third in the Southern League premier division south table.
