That includes the current League One campaign, which is currently on hold until April 3 at the earliest.

Pompey sit fourth in the table, firmly in the promotion race, with nine games of the regular season remaining.

A new schedule for it will be drawn up as part of commitments to see the season through to a conclusion.

But even Uefa state there’s no guarantee that commitment can be met as countries bid to mitigate impact of Covid-19.

Confirming their intention and concentrating on domestic football, a Uefa statement said there was ‘a commitment to complete all domestic and European club competitions by the end of the current sporting season, i.e. 30 June 2020 at the latest, should the situation improve and resuming playing be appropriate and prudent enough.’

The statement was released in conjunction with the European Club Association, European Leagues and FIFPRO Europe.
