Pompey defender Sean Raggett has gone viral on social media after hurtling into the goal post at full throttle against Sunderland.

It appears the no-nonsense Blues man channels his inner Forrest Gump as he charged into the woodwork in the second half last Saturday.

But the video being shared around fails to highlight the role of Black Cats man Joel Lynch in the incident.

A second clip shows the true impact of the defender, who was later injured in a collision with his keeper John McLaughlin, as he gives Raggett a helping hand moments before impact.

Sunderland boss Phil Parkinson claimed Ellis Harrison was to blame for Lynch’s injury after the game, but yesterday said the problem was not as bad as feared.

Watch footage of Raggett’s collision with the post below.
