Pompey’s form had dipped before the games stopped, with four defeats and a draw from nine games following on from their record-breaking winning run through January and February.

Naylor still has his his eyes on what can be achieved this season and, with his side just two points off second place, is being motivated through a challenging period by what his team could yet do if the campaign is to be completed.

‘Coventry are doing well, but you don’t know if they come back and have a few bad results what can happen.

‘It’s that type of season where you could see it happen because anyone can beat anyone in this league.

‘We’ve seen that this season, so you can’t rule anything out.

‘Once that date is confirmed we just need to be ready to go and look forward to hopefully getting promoted.’
