Ben Close is expected to be fit for the trip to Wigan after cramp forced him off after 87 minutes against Rochdale on Good Friday.

The midfielder has already established himself as a key player in the engine room under new head coach Danny Cowley by starting the past two games.

And he’s expected to continue, with the injury picked up against Dale nothing to worry about for the game at the DW Stadium.

Pompey will, however, have to cope without the suspended John Marquis, who is serving the second game of his three-match suspension.
