Wigan caretaker boss Leam Richardson will be hoping to have Jamie Proctor available once again after he passed a late fitness test ahead of the Gillingham game last week.

However, Scott Wootton is expected to miss the rest of the season through injury.

The defender, who joined the Latics on loan from Plymouth in January, landed awkwardly during the recent 3-1 defeat at Accrington Stanley - and is likely to miss Wigan’s final nine games of the League One campaign.

Predicted line-up

Jamie Jones, Tendayi Darikwa, George Johnston, Curtis Tilt, Luke Robinson; Lee Evans, Funso Ojo, Callum Lang, Thelo Aasgaard, Viv Solomon-Otabor, Jamie Proctor.Subs: Owen Evans, Corey Whelan, Joe Dodoo, Zach Clough, Will Keane, Adam Long, Dan Gardner.

Pompey team news

Ben Close is expected to be fit for the trip to Wigan after cramp forced him off after 87 minutes against Rochdale on Good Friday.

The midfielder has already established himself as a key player in the engine room under new head coach Danny Cowley by starting the past two games.

And he’s expected to continue, with the injury picked up against Dale nothing to worry about for the game at the DW Stadium.

Pompey will, however, have to cope without the suspended John Marquis, who is serving the second game of his three-match suspension.

Fellow forwards Ellis Harrison and Jordy Hiwula are also out and will miss the rest of the season.

Predicted line-up

Craig MacGillivray, Callum Johnson, Jack Whatmough, Sean Raggett, Lee Brown, Marcus Harness, Ben Close, Tom Naylor, Michael Jacobs, Ryan Williams, Ronan Curtis. Subs: Lewis Ward, James Bolton, Charlie Daniels, Rasmus Nicolaisen, Andy Cannon, George Byers, Harvey White.
