And it seems Ryan Tunnicliffe’s recall to the centre of midfield has gained most attention.

The former Luton and Millwall man last started a league game for the Blues in April.

In fact, he’s only got 26 minutes of league action in his legs this season, but starts alongside Jay Mingi in the Pompey engine room as Marlon Pack (suspended) and Joe Morrell (back injury, although on the bench) miss out.

As well as Tunnicliffe and Mingi – who makes his full league debut at Forest Green – Cowley has also called up Zak Swanson (full league debut), Ronan Curtis and Joe Pigott.

Out go Michael Morrison, Josh Koroma and Dane Scarlett.

But it’s the selection of Tunnicliffe that has Pompey fans talking the most.
