Portsmouth League One rivals the latest to be plunged into coronavirus crisis
Former Pompey boss Steve Cotterill’s new club have been forced to call off this weekend’s clash with Crewe after returning two positive Covid-19 tests.
Two unnamed players have tested positive meaning the entire first-team squad will now go into self-isolation with the club informing the EFL they can’t play their next game.

Hide AdA Shrewsbury statement read: ‘Town's fixture with Crewe Alexandra has been postponed due to a second positive Covid-19 test.
‘Shrewsbury Town Football Club can confirm a second unnamed Salop player has tested positive for Covid-19.
‘The health and safety of all staff members at Shrewsbury Town Football Club remains paramount and the Club continually takes all necessary steps to protect all where possible.
‘Therefore, Salop has informed the EFL that the Club is unable to fulfil our Sky Bet League One fixture with Crewe Alexandra this Saturday.

Hide Ad‘The second individual, who will not be named, will also self isolate in accordance with EFL and Government guidelines and we ask that their privacy is respected.
‘The Club will be making no further comment at this time.’
