Portsmouth faced Bristol City in FA Cup third-round action on Sunday, with the clash ending in a 2-1 defeat for Kenny Jackett’s side.

Pompey are pencilled in to return in the third round of the Papa John’s Trophy against Peterborough United tomorrow evening.

In League One, Portsmouth occupy third spot, with 35 points from 19 played, three points adrift of the automatic promotion positions but with a game in hand.

Portsmouth’s league opponents this coming Saturday, Fleetwood Town, are still yet to appoint Joey Barton’s successor after the former Newcastle United midfielder left the club last week.
