After another eventful season at Fratton Park – which will hopefully be extended to May 30 and a trip to Wembley for the League Two play-off final – their loyalty and support helped The News present another bumper cheque to their beloved Pompey.

With 10p of every copy of the Sports Mail donated to the club, another hefty sum was handed over to the Blues – this time at half-time of last night’s play-off semi-final against Plymouth.

And club chairman Iain McInnes was the proud recipient as he accepted a cheque of £13,682.60 from The News’ Howard Frost in front of the Fratton faithful.

That takes the total amount donated to Pompey from Sports Mail sales over the past three seasons to an impressive £40, 265, 30.

And it’s all down to those committed readers who turn to the Mail each weekend.

Of course, for The Sports Mail to continue bolstering the Blues’ coffers – and for the Saturday paper to remain – depends on our readers continuing to buy it on a weekly basis.

So the onus is on you, to keep going. It’s over to you!
