Steve Leigh calls for more midweek matches to be staged earlier in the season with Baffins Milton Rovers facing fixture chaos
The midweek postponement against high-flying Alresford was, amazingly, the club’s 14th at home this season.
Ahead of what promises to be a hectic final few weeks of the 2019/20 season, Baffins boss Steve Leigh said he would like to see more games scheduled at the start of the season.

‘In total, I think that we have only had 11 dry days since we played our FA Vase tie back in November.
‘We lost our game in midweek (against Alresford) to the weather and the games are stacking up.
‘In my eyes, we should be playing more midweek games at the start of the season.

‘During the opening three months we regularly had midweeks with no games.
‘We are now looking at playing three games a week for the rest of the season.
‘That is going to put an enormous strain on our squad and we will have to be careful how we manage it.’

Baffins also played two midweek games in October - one of which was a Portsmouth Senior Cup tie.
Rovers lost 2-0 at Bashley on November 23, so Leigh is expecting a tough game.
