‘Unbelievable’ Infinity continue goal-happy start to new Hampshire Premier League season

Infinity continued their goal-happy start to the new Hampshire Premier League season.

They made it 20 goals in just four matches with a 6-1 home romp over Liss Athletic.

In their previous two games Infinity had conceded first to Overton and Lyndhurst before hitting back to win 6-2 and 4-1.

This time, Wheatcroft demanded a better start and received it as Infinity flew into an early 3-0 lead.

Brandon Jewell pulled one back before half-time – his fourth goal in three games – but Infinity added another three more in the second half.

Andrew Powell netted his second double in successive games, with Jamie White, Josh Cripps and subs Josh Carey and Junior Kamara also netting.

Carey recently signed from Southern Leaguers Sholing while Kamara was at Baffins Milton last season.

The scoreline could have been even greater but for the performance of Liss keeper Derek Harding.

The Senior Division’s highest-scorers take on the team with the worst defensive record this weekend.

Infinity travel to Chamberlayne, who have shipped 18 goals in three games including a 12-0 battering at Bush Hill.

The following Wednesday, September 23, Infinity host Bush in a fixture which is sure to attract a good crowd to Hythe & Dibden FC.
