And the incident has been captured on camera, with both managers having to be separated by members of their respective clubs.

Tensions between the two boiled over after City's Fabian Delph was shown a red card for a challenge on Max Power just before the interval.

Wigan, who will now host Southampton in the quarter-finals, won the game 1-0 thanks to Will Grigg's 79th-minute strike.

Cook left Fratton Park last summer after guiding the Blues to the League Two title.
