The 27-year-old has completed his move from fellow National South club Maidenhead United and will complete a powerful forward line for 2016-17.

Wright is Pike’s eighth signing of the summer, joining fellow front men Warren Bentley (Winchester City), Jason Parish (AFC Portchester) and Chris Flood (Basingstoke Town).

Joe Oastler (Aldershot), Tom Bird (Basingstoke Town), Aaron Dawson and goalkeeper Martin Rice (both Truro City) have also signed.

Pike is resigned to losing defender Rory Williams to the Hawks, however.

He said: ‘It’s difficult to stand in the way of Rory, who has been offered treble what we can afford to pay him.’
