Remembered: how Portsmouth fans will always have Hong Kong

This week marked the anniversary of Pompey’s Asia Trophy final success in Hong Kong in 2007.

The Blues beat Liverpool 4-2 on penalties to lift the silverware as the Premier League travelled halfway round the world to show what it had to offer.

But the 6,000+ miles between Pompey’s Fratton Park and the Hong Kong Stadium didn’t put Blues fans off travelling in their hundreds for a unique experience while watching their team in action.

Indeed, Pompey supporters descended on the territory en mass to cheer on Harry Redknapp’s side, who would go on to lift more silverware at the end of the 2007-08 season.

Here, we look back on how Blues fans made themselves at home in one of the world’s most famous cities.
