Club secretary Garry Bird said there was an ‘electric atmosphere’ at the event, which featured 16 bouts.

Many of the match-ups featured home boxers, some of whom were competing in a competitive environment for the first time.

‘Ken said everyone should be proud of being a part of a high quality afternoon of boxing.’

Bird added: ‘It was an absolutely brilliant event, it went exceedingly well.
