That’s because Jon Evans, 50, won the event with his twin sons, Oakley and Perry, 25, finishing second and third!

Jon is now a reigning double champion at the club as he won the Handicap Championship in 2019, and that event takes place later this month.

Oakley and Perry were in the last group with Stuart Bearman and Jon was in the group in front of them with Mark Williams and Phil Mooney.

In the morning round, Perry carded a gross 77, Jon a gross 78 and Oakley a gross 80.

Jon was lying fourth after the front 18 but the leader had a bad shoulder so didn’t carry on in the afternoon.

In the afternoon round, Jon bogeyed the 15th and 16th holes but managed to par the next two to finish with a gross 74.

Oakley came in with a gross 76 and Perry with 79, leaving a final score of Jon (152), Oakley (156) and Perry (156). Oakley took runners-up spot on countback.

The family are no strangers to golfing success at Stokes Bay. Oakley won the Club Championship two years ago, while Jon also lifted the Handicap silverware in 2013 as well as last year.

All three have been members of the club for 11 years.
