Last September, Sharp finished the seventh season fourth-placed in Division 1.

Two months later, he reached his first final on the Cuestars under-21 bronze tour in Swindon.

And he passed a major milestone by compiling a new high break of 31 against Samuel Laxton in a league match a fortnight ago.

First-group winner Laxton, meanwhile, extended his lead over Owen Jenkins at the top of Division 1 to a virtually unassailable 14 points with four weeks remaining.

Ryan Wilson heads up Division 2.

Two-time Junior Pool League champion Rhys Pearce increased his highest break to 15 against Chloe Hall in the Monday Junior Snooker League.

He then edged Keira Hiscock in the final match to decide the second group winner.

Nine-year-old Carter Wells recorded a personal best break of eight in his first-ever competitive victory against Elodie Hall.

Jamie Wilson fired in the day’s highest break of 76.

The 16-year-old was undefeated in the top group and took over the lead in Division 1.

An extra-time winner against Keira Jackson earned Jayden Brookes a share of the spoils in the Junior Pool League.

Brookes, Harrison Heath and Division 1 leader Pearce won six of their eight matches.

Elsewhere, Wilson beat World Seniors tour player Stuart Watson 4-3 on a re-spotted black.

He battled back from 3-1 down in a Pro-Am at JP’s Snooker & Pool Club in Harlow.
