The pair, both with undefeated professional records, exchanged words as they faced off ahead of their mouth-watering weekend Sky Sports Box Office showdown in Gibraltar.

McKinson and Kongo came together for the cameras after an interview with Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn this afternoon.

It didn't take long for McKinson - wearing a Pompey shirt - to point to the WBO Global belt the Bermondsey-based boxer had placed over his shoulder as they stared each other down.

Kongo, donning the strip of Championship side Millwall, was quick to respond and there was a brief back and forth of verbals between the pair.

Matchroom promoter Hearn soon placed his hand between the two unbeaten fighters before a member of security moved the duo in different directions.

The excitement is building within the boxing world for what is sure to be an enthralling domestic showdown on the Whyte v Povetkin II undercard.

And a fiery first meeting between McKinson and Kongo could add some additional spice come fight night.
