Sublime show from Jamie Wilson is decisive blow to seal crown alongside Dusty Tingley as Rendle brothers are beaten

The rules of the competition meant Tingley and Wilson were giving a 10-point start in each frame, writes Steve Toms.

They started well in frame one with Wilson making a 24 break as they won the first frame winning it 62-19 and go 1-0 up.

In frame two it was all about good scoring with all four players playing well. The Rendle brothers both made good breaks but Tingley hit back with a 38 break of his own.

But Wayne was let in and he cleared the last three colours and levelled it up by taking the frame 81-67 to make it 1-1.

Frame three went to the colours. Wayne got in and made a good 38 break but yet again this was cancelled out as this time it was Wilson who made a 39 clearance to take the frame 87-42 and edge in front 2-1.

It was a battle for the Rendle brothers in frame four as they needed to win this frame to take it down to a decider. They both made good breaks, showing strong resolve and it was too much for Tingley and Wilson as the brothers won the frame 75-18 to set up a decider.

In frame five the Rendle brothers had the early control of the table. A missed red then allowed Wilson in and he didn’t disappoint, making a very good 57 break to seal the frame 72-13 and win the match 3-2.
