'Well drilled' Millbrook will provide in-form leaders Petersfield with a tough test

The Field had a narrow 28-17 win at home earlier in the season and are expecting an even tougher contest on Saturday.

Head coach Jason Ford said: ‘Millbrook is always a tough place to go and get a result.

‘They are a well drilled team and always seem to raise their game against us.’

Petersfield have started the second half of the season strongly and will be looking to maintain momentum.

Andy Barnes has his first start of the season in the centre in the absence of Greg Jansen.

Barnes has started from the bench in the last couple of games and had an immediate impact.

He is returning from a long lay-off due to injury and surgery and will be partnered in the midfield by the equally powerful Jordan Hunter.

George Davey retains his position on the left wing following a strong senior debut in the 68-0 win against Fareham Heathens.

Findlay Sloan is selected for the first time this season and will start from the bench.

n Locksheath Pumas visit rivals Portsmouth II in Hampshire One knowing a win can lift them into the top three.

Head Coach Liam Moggeridge said: ‘The win last week against Southampton maintained our seven-match unbeaten record, but the performance should have been better.

‘As a result, we are adding in a bit more pace this week to the back row.’

Number eight Jonathon Elsmore is out due to injury so Charlie Ford moves into the position with Will Quigley coming in at blindside for injured skipper James Campbell.

Also in the forwards, Steve White returns at prop forward.

In the three-quarters, Robbie Connell returns on the wing following a three month injury.

Paul Price, Olly Eggins and Gus Flack make the replacements bench.

n Fareham Heathens continue their Hampshire Premier relegation fight against second-placed Alton at Cams Alders.

In Hampshire Two, Southsea Nomads travel to Hook and Odiham (1.30pm).

Chairman George Winch said: ‘We have made quite a few changes for this match, some enforced and some to improve our speed across the park.’

On Sunday, Hampshire under-16's host A and B team games against Middlesex under-16's at Alresford RFC (2pm).

Hampshire lost their opening game against Dorset & Wilts, 23-15 after a hard-fought tussle.

Senior coach Gareth Lewis is pleased with the approach of his 60-man squad.

‘We are especially pleased with how quickly our squad has gelled in their short period of time together,’ said Lewis.

‘Their enthusiasm and desire to develop is fantastic.’
