Rising stars enjoy their Gosport magic mile
The City of Portsmouth runner finished with a quick time of 5min 06sec.
His club-mate Josh Goldfinch took second (5.22).
Eddie Smythe, of the Chapel Junior Tri Club crossed the line third (5.53).

Hide AdHannah Newton, of City of Portsmouth, was first female as she recorded a time of 6.24.
Cams Hill School duo Milly Lang and Charlotte Wallace finished second and third respectively, with times of 6.32 and 6.39.
Event organiser Nick Carter said: ‘The junior race this year was full.
‘Credit to the teachers, class room assistants and parents who pushed to get the entries.

Hide Ad‘Most of the feedback has come from parents on social media.
‘Their kids are delighted, they cannot stop talking about the Golden Mile. That’s what it is all about.
‘It’s great watching the junior race.
‘They are all smiling at some points but when they see that finishing tape they become competitive.
‘It’s like having their own Olympics.
‘There is a lot of sporting talent in the schools and when someone gives them the opportunity to have a go at something there is more chance of them taking it up.’

Hide AdCams Hill School showed their sporting prowess to take the top prize for the third year in a row with five runners in the top 13.
Meanwhile, Newtown C of E Primary School, in Gosport, had the most children in the race.
They won the prize for the best represented school.
Teacher Caroline Oakes said: ‘The children loved it and are really proud of their medals.’
A total of 339 runners completed the race.
